sharepoint conference 2009

I just got back from a week in Las Vegas at SharePoint Conference 2009. To say the very least, it was an incredible experience – tons of new SharePoint 14 stuff, lots of new people, and a couple of experiences that will last a long time.

I’ll try to write more about it later, but by far the best sessions centered around the Client Object Model – a unified data-access API regardless of the client – Silverlight, Javascript or .net CF – not to mention strongly-typed support for REST.

I met a new guy, Mike Gannotti – he’s a Microsoft guy with a huge following – and definitely a SharePoint Guru (or samurai, as he prefers to be called) – you can check him out at http://www.mikegannotti.com – he has a video podcast that he does frequently that’s worth checking out.

More later.

who 'dis?!

I'm a developer with a history in financial applications (boring) and business intelligence (sweet). Right now I'm focused on cool things, like Azure & Amazon's AWS cloud, Kinect for Windows & all things Windows 8 & Metro. jQuery, AJAX, MVC & the web are the future of development, so if you're not on that train, I'd suggest you find a way on - quickly. I've spent a lot of time working in SharePoint as well - have a look around & make yourself at home. Questions/comments, you can find me on fb & twitter, or use the 'contact' button at the top.
